Finished this up literally just as I reached my first goal of 1000 followers. Thanks for being the lucky 1000, mindwideweb!
Welcome! I’m beyond pleased I reached my goal in such a short time! Here’s a short introduction to myself & my page for all of the new[er] followers:
My name is Mae. My occupation? Human. Student of life [and in between schools]. I’m an artist of most fields, and a writer of sorts. I’m a photojournalist and an aspiring [written] journalist. I’m 21 years old on Earth, and 89.6 years old on Mercury, one of my favourite planets in our Solar System. The icon I use is a piece of artwork by Charmaine Olivia from her silhouettes series. Her work is here. I used that specific piece because, oddly enough, it reminds me about the part of my Native American family, like my father’s mother I was named after, that I may never get to meet, but highly appreciate. My favourite type of celestial body? I’m quite enamoured with Messier 42 of Orion. I love lying on my back on the earth and staring into it, watching the faded, milky cluster. I love the way if you look next to it, but not directly at it you can almost see it better than staring straight at it. [From this post here.]
I have a huge obsession with science and Carl Sagan. Alongside science, I post regularly about medicine/health, religion/non-religion [such as Atheism], politics, and photojournalism of current and/or political events [this includes photos of war]. I am pretty open minded, and generally easy going. I am always willing to accept questions concerning anything. My ask box is always open. The point of my page is to spread as much knowledge to people as possible. Knowledge is power. The more useful, and/or interesting information I can spread to my audience, the more they can spread it to their audience, and so on, and so forth. I love helping people learn about the wonders of life.

Keep exploring, and expanding!

I promised you guys some astro-photography photos I’ve been taking, here’s a little preview of some beginning shots.
Above you can see the Orion constellation and some surrounding stars in the night sky. As seen from Ohio, U.S.A.

Charcoal leg bones on green paper. [It contrasts the charcoal well as well as being cheap.]

A graphite sketch on cheap water-colour paper of an old ‘Escher-like’ assignment to show an almost infinite amount of space with arrangements of shapes and detailed shading. [Never finished the shading. I got irritated with it.]

A anatomically correct polyptych of the human arm. The bottom and top layers of muscles [shown in yellow and red acrylic paint on transparent laminate with detail drawn in black ink with a quill] rest on the thick white drawing paper showing the base skeleton, drawn in black ink with a quill. An old piece I did from a past anatomy class.

I don’t know if you guys remember this post - but I have been getting request for shirts like these as well as customized shoes I do. I figured, I need the money so why not sell on Etsy?
So I have now, three shirts I can make into the NASA design, [or perhaps a requested custom design] as well as galaxy shoes and other accessories. If you would like to buy anything or are interested in looking at some of what I have to offer - or even have a request for something custom - send me a message or an email at sciencesavedmysoul33@gmail.com.

Finished my NASA shirt for parties/raves/events.

I know the stars are a bit big but it’s a pretty hard logo to freehand. [The flash made the paint seem splotchy and doesn’t show the gradient so well…]

The back is going to have the quote, “My body is of the earth, my head is in the stars.”

What do you guys think?
